Gravel is in! No other bike category is as hip as all those bikes that are designed not to make a big difference between asphalt, gravel and forest paths. And of course, the US bike builders from Cannondale also have some gravel bikes in their range. And as you are almost used to from the brand, these are also a few more special vehicles that can score with innovations.
AREAS OF USE OF CANNONDALE GRAVEL BIKES
Gravel positions itself again between cyclocross and road bike. The geometry is more relaxed, the tires have not quite as deep lugs, so they roll just as well on roads as on gravel paths. This also makes Cannondale’s gravel bikes popular for commuting or for bike trekkers who would like to circumnavigate the whole world and value comfort and fast progress. That’s why Cannondale’s engineers have given a lot of thought to important comfort features. See Road Bikes for sale
FEATURES OF CANNONDALE GRAVEL BIKES
- When it comes to materials, Cannondale clearly relies on carbon and aluminium. Two materials that are inextricably linked to modern gravel bikes.
- Shimano and SRAM are the names of the companies responsible for the drive and brake components.
- Speaking of brakes: These are, of course, the disc variants – with hydraulics, of course.
- The frames are designed for comfort – perfect for long days in the saddle.
- Models with a lefty fork or rear suspension make the range of use of Cannondale gravel bikes even wider.
CANNONDALE IS FULLY COMMITTED TO INNOVATION
The fact that Cannondale is not satisfied with a “simple” gravel bike can be seen quickly when you take a look at the product range. This would be, for example, a variant with the distinctive Lefty suspension fork, which irons out even stronger bumps with its 30 mm travel and can be run on light trails.
If, on the other hand, you like it particularly comfortable and like to go on extended tours, you should look forward to the king-pin damper technology. The highlight: The rear wheel strut is loosely connected to the seat tube and thus allows – similar to the Lefty fork – 30 mm of travel. Here, however, with the advantage that it absorbs the load of micro-vibrations even better than the lightweight carbon frame already does. And the bike doesn’t even lose momentum. Pedal hard twice and you’re back at cruising speed.
Of course, if you can get by without all these bells and whistles, you can also get hold of a classic gravel bike at Cannondale that simply does what it’s supposed to do: convey riding fun, whether on asphalt or gravel!
