A NOTE ACCORDING TO THE BATTERY LAW
Disposal and recycling
Information on disposal and recycling
Old devices do not belong in the household waste! Old electrical devices contain valuable resources that can be recovered and reused in recycling processes. They also contain pollutants that must not be released into the environment.
You are obliged to hand in your old electrical devices at an official collection point, for example at the local recycling center. The JaxBan shops are also obliged to take back old electrical devices.
Meaning of the “crossed-out garbage can” symbol
The “crossed-out garbage can on wheels” on your electrical and electronic devices indicates that old devices may not be disposed of with household waste, but must be collected separately. You can find the symbol either on the product itself, its packaging, or in the instructions for use.
You will find the name of the respective pollutant near the garbage can symbol. “Cd” stands for cadmium, “Hg” for mercury, and “Pb” for lead.
Batteries, accumulators, and lamps Batteries, accumulators, and lamps that are not permanently installed in devices should, for safety reasons, be removed before handing over the old device and disposed of separately. Please use the collection containers provided in our stores to return batteries, accumulators, and lamps. For lithium batteries, tape the battery terminals to avoid short circuits.
Data protection notice
Old devices often contain sensitive personal data. This applies in particular to information and telecommunications technology devices such as computers and smartphones. In your own interest, please note that each end user is responsible for deleting the data on the old devices to be disposed of.
